UPDATE: We are pleased to confirm our donation of £216.68 to Crisis this Christmas.
This Christmas, Devon Valley Holiday Village is supporting Crisis, the national charity for homeless people in Great Britain.
We cannot imagine what it would be like to not have a home, especially in these frightening, uncertain times and in the lead-up to Christmas and winter. It is, of course, difficult to choose just one charitable cause to support, but we know that homelessness is a topic that deserves awareness and our backing.
Since 1967, Crisis has worked to end homelessness for everyone and for good, and for over 50 years on from its inception, the urgency has never been greater.
Every year, Crisis works directly with over 8000 homeless people to support them on their journey out of homelessness at its 11 Skylight centres across England, Scotland, and Wales. These centres help people leave homelessness behind for good through education and training, as well as support with housing, employment and health and wellbeing.
Crisis also works to end homelessness through partnerships, working with local councils and grassroots organisations. Across the year, the charity campaigns at a national political level for the political commitment and social changes needed to end homelessness for good.
So, this year, instead of a Black Friday promotion, we are donating 10% of all monies paid for new holiday bookings created between 27th and 30th November 2020.
Plus, for each new booking made during this time, we will add an additional £1 to our donation.
We are delighted to support such an important cause in the run-up to Christmas.
If you wish to make your own donation to Crisis, then you can do so directly via the charity’s website.
